The intricate detail of the sculptures and artwork on this facade can only be appreciated in person as this image neither portrays the workmanship nor the grandeur of this structure. This facade was what Gaudi personally supervised and most of the work was complete before his untimely death in 1926. The 4 columns are bell towers, the inner 2 reaching 107m and the outer 2 are 98m, with the particular shape and the gaps between the stones designed to enhance the sounds of the bells.
The famous 22 story building, resembling a clothes iron, on 5th Avenue, New York, is an impressive structure. The clock is a 19 foot cast iron clock from 1909.
Right opposite the building, across 5th Avenue, was the famous sandwich place called Eisenberg’s. I had their fantastic Reuben, which was out of this world!
Another black & white – this time of the famous Eiffel Tower taken during a trip last year. It would have been amazing to have photographed this icon during the recent snow storm in Paris!
