I was rushing between one side of the bridge to the other, trying to cram all the sights so I missed out getting sunset pictures from this location. But the skyline and the buildings with the lights on against a bright blue sky at dusk turned out to be equally fantastic. And of course, it was a freezing cold night and I was literally (and I do mean literally) shivering, unable to keep my finger steady enough to press the shutter button! Well worth it though!
This was shot at the tiny Pebble Beach (yes it’s called that) in the DUMBO area where you can see the city skyline against the famous Brooklyn Bridge. Found this while doing a very pleasant, albeit freezing cold, walk along the river starting off from the Main Street Park near the Manhattan Bridge and going up to the Piers (think about to Pier 5). Right in the center of this image is the impressive One World Trace Center building, the tallest in New York.
I was hoping to get a beautiful sunset from this bridge but it was so cloudy that the sun was hidden and the colours muted. So settled for the blue hour and some light trails. Needless to say, it was freezing cold and wind on the bridge was not helping one bit. It was also fun dodging the speeding cyclists while I struggled with carrying the tripod on some of the narrower sections.
